Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 August 2026
The short version
You buy a licence to use NeoMotion on 2 devices (3 for the founding cohort). Everything you make is yours — including commercially, including work built from the motion library. We claim nothing in your output.
AI features run on your own provider keys, billed to you by that provider at their price. We add no markup and sell no credits.
There's a free 14-day trial so you can check before paying, and a 14-day window to ask for a refund if a purchase still turns out wrong. A lifetime licence is never converted to a subscription and never billed again.
This summary is here to be readable, not to replace the sections below. Where the two disagree, the full text governs.
01The agreement
These terms are the contract between you and NeoMotion Studio (“NeoMotion”, “we”, “us”) for the NeoMotion website, the NeoMotion desktop app, and anything we ship alongside them. By creating an account, activating a licence, or using the app, you accept them.
If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you have the authority to bind it, and “you” means that company.
02What the service is
NeoMotion is a desktop motion-graphics editor with an AI agent attached. The app runs on your computer: your media stays on your disk, and rendering happens on your hardware. This website handles your account, your licence and your payments.
The AI features run on your own provider keys — see your AI keys and third-party costs below. We are not an AI credit reseller, and we do not resell provider capacity to you.
03Your account
You need an account to activate a licence. Keep your credentials and your licence key to yourself — a licence key is a secret, and anyone holding it can consume a device seat. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Give us an email address you can actually receive mail at: it is where your licence key, receipts and any security notice will go. One account per person or per company; don't register on someone else's behalf without their say-so.
04The free trial
Every account can start one free 14-day Studio trial. It is full Studio — watermark-free export, the whole motion library, the agent control surface — on one device. The clock starts when you approve the device from the app, not when you sign up, so installing early costs you nothing. One trial per account; when it ends, the app keeps opening your projects but the paid features stop.
05What a licence gives you
A paid licence is a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use NeoMotion for as long as the licence is valid. You are buying a licence to use the software, not the software itself.
Devices
A Studio licence activates on 2 devices at once. Founding-cohort licences activate on 3. You can deactivate a device from your account and move the seat to another machine — reinstalling on the same machine does not cost a second seat.
Updates
Subscriptions (monthly and yearly) include every update released while the subscription is live. A lifetime licence includes updates for 12 months from purchase; after that the last build you received keeps working, forever, and further updates are optional. Founding-cohort licences include updates for as long as we ship them, which is the thing the founding price buys.
What “lifetime” means
No renewal date and no expiry: you pay once and the licence stays valid. It refers to the working life of the product, not to yours — we can't promise a piece of software will be maintained for a hundred years. What we can promise is that a lifetime licence will never be converted into a subscription and never be billed again.
What you may not do with it
- Share, resell, sublicense or publish your licence key.
- Work around the activation or device limit.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the software, except where the law says you may despite this clause.
- Rent the software out as a service to third parties.
06Payment
Prices are in US dollars and are shown on the pricing section before you pay. Checkout runs through PayPal; we never see your card details. Where we are required to charge tax, it is shown at checkout before you confirm.
Subscriptions renew automatically — monthly plans every month, yearly plans every year — at the price you signed up at, until you cancel. Cancel any time from your billing page; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and we don't prorate a part-used period. If a renewal payment fails, the licence goes past-due and eventually stops activating devices.
One-time purchases (lifetime and founding) are charged once. There is no renewal to cancel.
We can change our prices, but never for a period you have already paid for: a subscription price change takes effect at your next renewal, and we will tell you before it does. A lifetime licence you already bought is never repriced.
07Refunds
There is a free 14-day trial of the full product specifically so you can find out whether NeoMotion works for you before paying — please use it.
If you still end up with a purchase that isn't right, write to privacy@neomotion.net within 14 days of the charge and tell us what happened. We refund honest cases, including “it doesn't do what I thought it did”. We do not refund a licence that has been shared or is being abused, and after 14 days a purchase is final unless the law where you live says otherwise — in which case the law wins.
A refunded licence is revoked, and its device seats are released. For founding purchases, the seat goes back into the cohort.
08Your work is yours
You own everything you make with NeoMotion — your projects, your timelines, your exported video — and you owe us nothing for it. No revenue share, no attribution requirement, no licence back to us. We claim no rights in your output, and we could not use it if we wanted to: it never leaves your machine.
That includes commercial work. Anything you export, including compositions built from the bundled motion library, is yours to use commercially and to sell. The one thing you may not do is repackage the motion library itself — extracting the presets to redistribute them, as presets, is not a use of your output.
You are responsible for having the rights to whatever you feed in: footage, music, logos, stock images, someone's face. NeoMotion doesn't clear those for you.
09Your AI keys and third-party costs
AI features need a key from a provider you have an account with — OpenAI for the director and transcription, Replicate for image generation, and others as we add them. That usage is billed to you by that provider, at their price. We take no cut and add no markup, which is also why there are no credits to buy here.
- You are responsible for your provider bills, and for staying inside their terms.
- Their terms and privacy policies govern that traffic — it goes from your machine straight to them.
- If a provider changes its prices, removes a model, or suspends your account, that is between you and them. We will keep the app working with what remains available.
10Acceptable use
Don't use NeoMotion to:
- break the law, or infringe someone else's copyright, trademark or likeness;
- produce sexual content involving minors, or content whose purpose is to harass, threaten or incite violence against people;
- make deceptive synthetic media of real people — impersonation, fabricated statements, fake endorsements;
- attack our systems, or anyone else's.
We don't inspect your projects — we can't, they are on your disk. This clause exists so that when we do learn of abuse, we can act on it.
11Availability, and what is still rough
NeoMotion is a young product and we would rather say so here than let you discover it after paying:
- The installers are not code-signed yet. macOS and Windows each interrupt the first launch with a security warning you have to click through once. Signing is on the way.
- Some things are roadmap. We describe features as shipped only when they are; anything described as coming may change or be dropped. Don't buy for a feature that isn't in the build today.
- The website can go down. We aim to keep sign-in and activation available but we don't offer an uptime guarantee, and we may take the service down for maintenance.
We may change, add or remove features over time. If we remove something you paid for and can't offer a fair replacement, tell us and we will sort it out.
12Our intellectual property
The software, the motion library, the name NeoMotion, the logo and everything on this site belong to us or to our licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you beyond the licence described above.
13Ending it
You can stop at any time: cancel a subscription from your billing page, or ask us to delete your account entirely. Deleting the account ends the licences on it, including lifetime ones, so transfer them first if that matters.
We can suspend or terminate a licence if it is being shared or its activation limits are being circumvented, if a payment is charged back or reversed, or if the acceptable-use section above is being broken. Where the problem is fixable, we will tell you and give you a chance to fix it first.
14Disclaimers
The software is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI output will be correct or suitable for your purpose, or that a render will always be identical across versions. Keep your own backups of your project files — they live on your machine, so they are yours to protect.
15Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, lost data, lost business, a missed client deadline — arising out of these terms.
Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or US$297 for a one-time licence, whichever is greater.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence — and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are untouched by any of this.
16Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top of the page always says when. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use NeoMotion after that means you accept the new version; if you don't, tell us and stop using it.
17Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Indonesia, and the courts of Indonesia have jurisdiction over any dispute — except where consumer protection law in your own country gives you the right to bring a claim there instead. Before anyone involves a court, write to us: almost everything is fixable by email.
